Introducing
THOT® - ATCN: The last decade has seen the emergence of the computer as the predominant factor in the conduct of daily business in all areas of commerce and government. The result is the collection of an almost unimaginable mass of data. While some refer to this time as "The Age of Information", it is perhaps better-called "The Age of the Data Glut". The truth is that there is so much data collected that what information it contains is overwhelmed by the shear quantity of it all. The issue now is how can anyone actually extract real information from it all. Two major difficulties exist:
Indeed the group of products referred to as data mining tools use these very technologies. However, their scope is limited and static. That is, data mining models only a single behavior and cannot adapt to new data or behaviors. Therefore, what is needed is a means for monitoring a dynamic, broad data stream, classifying behaviors in that stream and correlating those behaviors with each other. |
