The Heuristic Model of Technology Transfer: American Heuristics Corporation sees the evolution of technology not as a linear series of events but as a cyclical process. One that builds upon what is presently understood so as to arrive at a higher, more advanced, level of knowledge and understanding. The germination of new technologies often brings with it a high degree of risk, yet, at the same time, a high degree of reward when successful. We have defined a model for this type of technology transfer. It is called the Heuristic Model©. (Click above to view a larger graphical representation of the Heuristic Model) A significant portion of AHC's business is focusing on Research and Development activities that advance the state-of-the-art. Our R&D engineers work at developing new tools and new technology. In addition, AHC works to hybridize existing technologies so that the offspring are better and more robust than the individual technologies from which they were born.A critical part of this evolutionary process is the transfer of these new technologies into the private sector. We strongly believe that education is an absolute for continued technology stabilization. We help by educating clients and, therefore, create technology advocates, and transfer advancing software technologies. As new technologies become more accepted, opportunities for consulting become more abundant. From proof-of-concept studies to turn-key solutions, the innovative insertion of these new technologies, in a multitude of domains, helps to further define their roles and value. As maturation of the technology occurs, through continued usage and broader acceptance, new markets and products develop as cross-pollination continues between industries and domains. Having completed the cycle, that which was once a new technology is now a "heuristic": a known against which problems can be evaluated for a solution. A solution which can be used, once again, to push the technology envelope! |
